Rusted A/C Systems = Time for an Efficiency Upgrade
This is a finely made Amana packaged rooftop unit- just a few decades old, and far surpassed it’s projected life. On top of there being some bad refrigerants more than likely slowly leaking out of this system. Rust is usually a sign of a lower SEER Rating and inefficiency ( which becomes costly on the energy bills). Wasting extra money on A/C bills does no-one any good.
Rust may be a sign you’re paying too much on energy bills.
This system lasting decades is impressive, however just because it isn’t broke doesn’t make a ~25-30 year old system covered in rust efficient.
